Top: In My Air; Skirt: H&M; Shoes: Steve Madden via 6pm
I won this In My Air blouse from a Rouge Fox giveaway (check out her awesome style blog) and was excited to style it, as it's not something I traditionally wear. Because it was a bit of a masculine shape and print, I wanted to pair it with something girly, a style combo of unlikely friends. A hot pink skater skirt was my first idea, but since I don't own one... it was on to red (with some peplum detail for flair). Adding some sky-high heels and a braid made me feel at once girly and edgy. I think it was a success. Thanks to Rouge Fox and the folks at In My Air for the great top!
In other news, this Monday flew by, which suggests that the week is sure to zip by as well. I'm swamped at work with a ton of new faculty jobs to recruit for and embarking upon a new project is sure to fill my schedule in the upcoming months. Ben and I are looking forward to a possible summer vacation in Hawaii (where I am from) in July and so that sunny future is preoccupying my thoughts that aren't dedicated to worrying about my kitty's health and work assignments. We are trying to let Ben celebrate his last free summer before med school with something bigger than just laying in the park during the chilly, foggy Washington waiting for some hint of sunshine. Here's hoping! Anyone else just dying for summer?
