Hot Shop

Top: Ruche; Skirt: Express: Boots: Target (on sale!): Bracelet, necklace: Tiffany & Co.; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

On Saturday, we took Ben's family to see the Museum of Glass downtown. It was the prettiest day we've seen all year with beaming sun and little to no wind and it got up to about 57 degrees. That's a joyful Spring temp in Washington. We had actually never been to the museum - once you've seen one piece of blown glass, you've seen them all - but the highlight of the day was going into the Hot Shop within the museum. Housed within a big cone that a part of the downtown skyline, the hot shop is where glass is formed and contains auditorium style seating. The last few photos feature the glass blowers making a martini glass with molten red and clear glass. It was so fascinating that we must have sat their for an hour, in awe. I'd highly recommend checking out live glass blowing (some places have "make-your-own" glass blowing) if you have some in the area.

We ended the day with a lunch down on the waterfront, some delicious cupcakes from a bakery downtown, and then some well-deserved, post-local-pint-of-beer naps. This outfit served me well for the days activities, if it left me a little chilly! Seems like 57 is not quite skirt and chiffon blouse weather yet, but to heck with it. The entire next week is supposed to be rainy and miserable. Glad I got some bare leg time in.
