The insanely nice weather this weekend lent itself to wandering about Tacoma, laying in the park eating popsicles, and picnicking... so we did all of those things until I was too sunburned and had to head back inside. I wore this outfit on Saturday to go around the antique district looking for a birthday gift for a friend (we celebrated Ben and CP's husband's birthday Saturday night). After shopping at this adorable home decor store called Dwelling, we wandered down to the Spanish Steps. These huge white stairs are next to an ornate, but broken down old Elk's Lodge. The spot has the perfect amount of weird ornate building detail and broken windows to be quintessentially Tacoma. While on the steps, we saw a host of characters lounging about and wandering up and down them... couldn't feel more at home!
After the gorgeous seventy degree days we had, the time in the park getting caught up on books (I read John Green's The Fault in Our Stars and Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In this weekend), eating pizza out in the open air bar of our favorite local restaurant, having a picnic with fried chicken, kettle chips and lemonade, and dying Easter eggs... I am not ready to head back to work. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well and are equally reluctant to hole back up in your offices Monday morning.
