Dress: Gracie B; Pearls: gift, antique
When I won a giveaway on Sandy's blog the other day, it was my first introduction to the adorable Gracie B boutique. I immediately set my sights on this Creme de la Creme dress in the new arrivals as it had the cutest waist band and I am always looking for more dresses to add to my wardrobe. I actually didn't know that the back was this cute when I ordered it, so it was a complete and total (great) surprise. I was feeling like taking an easy outfit photo shoot (limited of course by my camera sitting on the bookshelf, remote in-hand, and bad indoor lighting) with this cute dress to show off and ended up missing getting my feet in every single photo... really? Am I really that bad at taking photos of myself. I know so many other amazing bloggers take their photos via tripod (and clearly that's my problem. My tripod is M.I.A.) and via remote and come out with great, perfectly focused, beautifully composed photos. That is not in the cards for me guys. To offset this embarrassment, that I realized upon editing after the sun had set, I added in some photos of kitty. At least some of his feet are present in the shoot.
I had a really rough day at work and have some big obstacles to overcome in the next few weeks regarding a daunting project I'm on, so this dress arrived at the perfect time and I was happy for some post-work wine and cheese with a friend and colleague. We chatted about work and life and I got to sit around in this pretty dress for a few hours. What better way is there to get the weekend started?
