Ben has come leaps and bounds in style department since we've met. I like to think it's all due to my influence, but I think getting a job that required slacks and button downs was the key. He could no longer wear his absolutely terrible old Star Trek t-shirt to all events. It has holes in the back for goodness sakes! I mentioned that he was looking quite fashionable and experimental in his print-mixing ensemble yesterday, and am thrilled to have a whole feature of him today. Ben's style challenges may have had to do with the inability to find affordable fashion. We worked on that a little bit today by shopping at Sears for some new clothes on sale!
We were really thrilled at what we found at Sears (and for great prices!). I am even more thrilled at the way we worked it into the look above. Layering and color choice aren't something you see done very well on men and this bright (ha!) idea turned out really well. We purchased the pink tank on sale as part of Sears' younger collection of items. They have some awesome graphic bright tees and tanks that were calling Ben. Perfect for our upcoming vacation. Ben also has about 90 pairs of slacks, and naturally was drawn to these slim fit chinos he's wearing above. I've got to say, they look great and are entirely versatile. I tried to force him into a sport coat for dressier occasions, but that was a no-go. I guess you need to take your successes and rejoice and not harp on the shortcomings of man-makeovers.
What do you think of this neon look? Would you be able to get your significant other into a dressing room, into a hot pink shirt, and then cajole him to take photos later? For more photos on our entire shopping trip, check out the Google+ post here.
i personally love the neon look, especially during the summertime! but my hubby would not be caught dead in neon! so good job getting ben to wear it! =)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great look! My husband would never wear neon - he's a brown kinda guy, but I love it on all men. Your guy looks like he has some swagger! I can't picture him in a holey Star Wars T-shirt!
ReplyDeleteI love neon this season on guys an girls!

Haha he makes a great model. So funny you remind me of Blake Lively and the whole time I was looking at the photos I was thinking he reminds of someone, some actor, not sure who I think it may be a British actor I have seen on PBS.

Dressing Ken
Yay for Ben making an appearance today! Thanks for linking up, and I'm loving that blue and coral combo! My SO is really anti-shopping so I don't think he'd let me drag him into stores and dress him up, but you two have a blast with it!
