Natural Makeup for Summer with Rimmel

I traditionally wear some heavy make-up around my eyes (dark eyeliner, heavy mascara) and I never miss a day without some raccoon-style happening around my lids. I think I look sleepy without eye make-up as my eyes can look puffy without something bright to pep them up. I also prefer bright pink and red lipsticks for the same reason - aren't pale people supposed to play up their features to avoid looking washed out? I then got the opportunity to try a new line of very affordable makeup from Rimmel London for a natural summer look, inspired by the Live SoFab magazine makeup feature (Rimmel's products are featured in it, so give it a look below).

When I went shopping for Rimmel London's $3.97 collection in Walmart's makeup section, I was wary of wearing a nude make-up trend on my very pale face and skeptical that any makeup could cost $3.97. However, when I discovered that I was able to buy an entire new set of makeup (all the items listed above) for $30, I was excited to revamp my style. And then I applied the make-up, which took about five minutes max, and walked away looking fresh, happy, and not so weighted down by heavy liners and lipsticks. I really loved the gloss as it gave a dewy glimmer to the entire look! Ben kept looking over at me across the living room and saying that I looked "very pretty" which is a supreme compliment as he's pretty persnickety about make-up. I don't think I've ever actually heard him comment on a make-up look before in a positive way, so this may have been a compliment of the highest order.

I was so thrilled about this bright-eyed look that I wore it to happy hour shortly afterward with friends. There's something nice about feeling like you're wearing a youthful summer look and the price point definitely didn't hurt. Would you try the natural makeup trend for summer?
