Goldfinger

Dress, necklace: c/o Lulu*s; Bracelet: Stella and Dot; Ring: c/o Papa East

Up until very recently, I was a silver-only kind of girl. Most of what I own is sterling or silver-toned and so gold just never found a place in my collection of jewelry - until I won the Stella and Dot Christina link bracelet a while back. It became such a staple that I've been adding more pieces to my gilt collection. This look above is a bit of an exaggeration on the gold jewelry look, but you can't help but to feel absolutely badass when decked out in thick gold jewelry. The heavy gold ring from Papa East above is something I'd have never picked out myself, but was surprisingly excited to wear. It feels like wearing a tiny mountain range on your hand... and I feel totally safe in dark alley's now. ;)

Today, we walked up to the farmer's market and picked up the lovely dahlia's above (as well as a huge cinnamon roll, but devoured that guy too quickly to snap photos of it in the apartment). I love having all of these blooms in my house and my orchids always assure a good spray of exquisite beauty. It certainly makes for happy, bright, floral afternoons.

My brother and I are now parked in front of the TV on this sunny day watching American Horror Story... It seems like we should be outside, out and about, and doing touristy things, but I think that this is the perfect vacation/break I was thinking of when I whined in Friday's post. It feels good to be lazy, laying around and thinking of nothing but closing our eyes every time someone goes into that darn basement room!
