My friend from Seattle made the trek to Portland this weekend and I got to spend a lovely few hours with her on Saturday morning seeing the Portland sights. We started by walking into the city to Blue Star Donuts (donuts for grown-ups) and enjoyed maple bacon donuts in the cold weather and fall sun. We also tried a peanut butter powder and blackberry compote donut. Mm. I can't wait to go back and dive into the weirder flavors like pear brandy fritters and pistachio cheesecake.
We then headed out to taste at Eastside Distillery - vodka, rum, bourbon, and marionberry whiskey, mm! I ended up buying a delicious bottle of spiced rum for holiday cocktails for Ben. Down the street was the Lucky Labrador Brewery, which I hadn't visited yet. Though it was a really interesting space (read: a little more rustic than I like), the beer was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed a sampler tray of IPAs. We finished our visit with some poutine at the SE Hawthorn food carts and a sad farewell.
I didn't get the chance to take outfit photos today, so I hope you enjoy the food and drink photos above and check out one of the new sponsors below.
Edgemere Ltd. is one of the blog's newest sponsors and features primarily equestrian supplies and clothing, but among their riding equipment lies an awesome selection of rain boots. They carry some pretty Hunter's, but I wanted to share the less mainstream boots below! Check out Edgemere Ltd and thanks for checking out the companies that sponsor the blog.
