In an effort to get some more movement infused into my day, I've been trying to take a walk during my lunch break for about 20-30 minutes around downtown Portland. If I don't walk, I end up sitting there trying not to eat the many snacks my workplace is stocked with. Sometimes walking is just easier. I work right next to a waterfront path that's usually populated with a ton of people getting out and walking during their breaks - so many women in pencil skirts and walking shoes that you'd think this was a fashion deprived city (I kid! It is!). 

Today I took a walk across the Steel Bridge, a surprisingly scary bridge that has a walking path adjacent to its lower-level railroad tracks. I braved the wind and the heights over the Willamette River with other joggers, bikers, and work-friend walking duos. On my way out to the bridge, I walked through the amazing cherry blossom trees that were in my recent post. The wind had picked up and all of the beautiful blossoms were flying off of the trees and onto the waterfront. It actually looked like it was snowing, the entire walkway covered in thin white petals and everyone's hats and jackets littered with the beautiful flora. 

After crossing the bridge, I got a beautiful view of Portland from the other side of the city and a break in the wind and rain made for a beautiful scene. There's something lovely about getting out of the office for a quick minute and seeing a different view of the city than usual. 

Of note - I did not wear these shoes on my walk otherwise it'd likely have been a less lovely walk in the blustery day.
