During the summer, I think my make-up use decreases significantly because my freckles start to take over my entire face and it seems useless to try to use cover-up. Sitting out in the sun for any period of time seems to result in more and more freckles, popping up all over my nose, slowly transforming me into a human giraffe. As a kid, I used to think that my freckles would all merge into one blob and I'd just turn brown. Turns out that doesn't happen, but I've certainly gotten close. I think that might be why my face looks so weird in these photos and in the mirror lately. My paleness plus freckles is shocking me!
This weekend my best friend came to town and we spent an amazing few days together. The comfort of spending downtime with someone you're so close to is amazing, especially here in Portland where I don't have many super-close or old friends to hang out with. We snapped these photos while dying from the upper-90s heat during a mid-day stroll. Minutes later we crawled back inside with spray bottles, Psych, AC blaring, and new iPhone games whirring. It was the perfect evening to stay inside and away from the terribly warm weather. We actually both ended up passing out after a beer and snoozing away the evening. Whoops! Netflix ran on its for a few hours, the fans whirred while we slept, and I think it was just what the weekend-doctor ordered. More photos from the weekend to come this week!
